Pepi — to put the hosts 2-0 up. S. Mané pulled one back for Senegal on the stroke of half-time, assisted by H. Diarra, and levelled at 2-2 with a second goal in the 52nd minute. USA restored their lead through F. Balogun in the 63rd minute — his earlier effort in the 49th had been ruled out for offside by VAR — and that third goal proved enough for the hosts to see out the match.

With no standings or bracket at stake, the result carries weight primarily in form and preparation. USA, coached by Mauricio Pochettino, demonstrated the ability to respond after being pegged back twice, winning from a position of parity in the second half.
