Haaland's brace and an own goal send Norway past Iraq 4-1 in Group I opener.
E. Haaland put Norway ahead at Gillette Stadium in the 29th minute, assisted by D. Wolfe, before A. Hussein pulled Iraq level in the 39th with help from A. Al Ammari. Haaland restored Norway's lead four minutes later with his second of the night to make it 2-1 at the break. L. Ostigard, introduced as a substitute at the 73rd minute, headed Norway further clear in the 76th from an M. Odegaard assist, and A. Hussein turned the ball into his own net deep in stoppage time to complete a 4-1 scoreline. Iraq managed just one shot on target across the 90-plus minutes despite generating 11 attempts.
